Why One Shouldn't Celebrate Mawlid un Nabi || Prophet Muhammad (SAW)'s Birthday

Do you love the Prophet (SalAllahu Alayhi Wasallam)? - YES!
Do you believe Islam is complete - YES!
Is it possible for us to love the Prophet (SalAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) more than the Sahaba (RadhiAllahuAnnu) - NO!

•|• But I'm Just Showing Love To The Prophet (ﷺ)•|•

There is nothing in the Qur’an or the Hadiths to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told us all not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace).

He said (ﷺ): “Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. I am only a slave, so say, ‘The slave of Allah and His Messenger.’” (Reported by al-Bukhaari).

Do you love ﷺ more than the Sahaba (RadhiAllahAnnu) who were reported to have never celebrated this day as a day of Eid?

•|• But The Day He (ﷺ) Was Born Was Special! •|•

What has been reported is that the Prophet (ﷺ) made the day of his birth a day of worship, which is different to celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was entrusted with the Mission or when I was first given Revelation.” (Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa’i and Abu Dawood).

•|• So You Are Saying All Those Who Celebrate It Are Wrong? •|•

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best people are those of my generation, and then those who will come after them (the next generation), and then those who will come after them (i.e. the next generation), and then after them, there will come people whose witness will precede their oaths, and whose oaths will precede their witness." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6429)

Bid'ah, innovation is dearer to Iblees than sin, because a person may repent from sin, but not from innovation." (Sufyaan ibn 'Uyaynah (Allaah have mercy on him))

•|• It Might Be Doubtful, But I Still Want To Do It! •|•

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear, but between them there are matters which are doubtful.'" And sometimes he said: "But between them are matters that are not as clear. I will describe the likeness of that for you. Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has a sanctuary and the sanctuary of Allah is that which He has forbidden. Whoever grazes around the sanctuary will soon transgress into the sanctuary. And whoever approaches a matter that is unclear, he will soon wind up in the sanctuary." And sometimes he said: "He will soon transgress, and indeed whoever mixes in doubt, he will soon cross into it." (Sahih) (Sunan an-Nasa'i 5710)

Stay away from doubtful areas brothers and sisters, it's seriously not worth the risk of standing in front of Allah Azzawajal and you have acts of worship which were shown to you as being innovative or at the very least doubtful.

Stick to the Qur'an and Sunnah.
